Project Reference

As part of Tata Steel’s continued investment and expansion of their steel production plant at Port Talbot Tata once again selected Otto Simon Limited (OSL) to deliver a strategically important and timely project. Working closely with Tata's Morfa project group OSL undertook the detailed design, procurement, supply, delivery and commissioning of two replacement Ammonia Scrubbers.

The 4.5m dia x 33m high scrubbers and associated plant are designed to perform a significantly important function in enabling the supply of consistently high quality fuel gas throughout the site and the reduction of corrosive elements to downstream processes and equipment.

The project demanded a series of major lifts and tie-ins in and around existing infrastructure during ongoing production, the timing of which was critical in maintaining the supply of fuel gas to the steel mills.
