Our services are supported by the process-led engineering expertise and technical support provided by our Head Office, and backed by our 140 year heritage of working with the processes and technologies involved. Otto Simon holds the technical files for OEM and design of the remaining operational UK Coking Plants, and possess an unrivalled knowledge of the process involved with operating and maintaining coke plants, coke ovens, and coke oven service machinery.

Refractory Repairs

Otto Simon is highly experienced in performing repair and re-build services for Batteries, Refractories and Kilns. Our specialist personnel are capable of working in high temperature intensive environments whilst the rest of the plant remains in operation. Expand the headings below for more information:
  • Cold Repairs

    OSL has extensive experience with installations that require renewal of  both monolithic and monolithic products. 


    We are able to assist and collaborate with clients with the safe and controlled shutdown of  assets to carry out remedial repairs or full turn key projects. 


  • Hot Repairs

    Where cold repairs are not an option, OSL has specialist refractory repair solutions such as ceramic welding for use on Fireclay & silica applications.

    OSL has a comprehensive network of refractory repair specialists with expertise, across a wide spectrum of industry sectors. for instances where there are technically challenging repairs, in which a partial shutdown is necessary to maintain integrity of the refractory
